BandLab acquires Israeli AI music startup Aiode in deal estimated at tens of millions of dollars

Aiode’s technology uses licensed recordings from professional musicians to create AI models designed to replicate instruments and styles while keeping artists involved in the process.

Music technology company BandLab Technologies, which owns the BandLab, Cakewalk, ReverbNation and Airbit brands, is acquiring Israeli company Aiode, an artificial intelligence-based music creation platform that enables creators to produce music using fully licensed audio-to-audio models developed in close collaboration with professional studio musicians and producers. The companies did not disclose the value of the acquisition, but it is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars.
Founded in 2022, Aiode employs 12 people and has raised approximately $7 million to date. Its investors include Israeli funds Horizon Capital and Atooro fund, as well as international investors Regah Ventures and Mindset Music Ventures.

Following the acquisition, Aiode will continue operating as a standalone product, with ongoing service for existing users and no disruption to current collaborations or licensing agreements. Co-founders Idan Dobrecki and Blue Dobrecky will continue leading the company as CEO and COO, respectively.
The acquisition gives BandLab Technologies a third music creation platform alongside BandLab and Cakewalk, adding a dedicated AI-powered workflow solution to its portfolio. The company said the combined platforms reflect the growing range of ways creators can produce music and expand access to professional-grade tools.
Aiode’s platform allows creators to begin a project from scratch or upload their own audio, then select from a range of virtual musicians and style models to perform throughout a track. Users can direct and adjust the role of each virtual musician, create alternative versions of specific sections of a song, and modify individual elements without changing the rest of the composition.
Once completed, projects can be exported either as individual tracks or as a full mix.
Aiode says that 100% of the audio clips used to train its proprietary models are fully licensed and traceable. The training data includes recordings from professional musicians and producers, as well as additional licensed audio material. Models based on specific musicians are developed in collaboration with those artists and under their creative direction, with the goal of preserving each musician’s unique sound, style and artistic identity.
“Aiode shares BandLab Technologies’ ethos of innovation and giving music makers every opportunity to find success. Since Aiode was founded in 2022, we’ve worked side by side with professional musicians to create technology that respects their artistry and keeps them involved in how their musical identity is represented. BandLab Technologies gives us the opportunity to bring that approach to more creators,” says Idan Dobrecki, CEO and Co-Founder of Aiode.
“For Aiode, joining a group that understands both accessible creation and professional production is a rare fit,” says Blue Dobrecky, COO and Co-Founder of Aiode. “BandLab Technologies’ breadth of experience gives us a much broader foundation for where Aiode can go as the ways people make music continue to evolve.”
The companies said future versions of Aiode are expected to include audio recording capabilities and expanded functionality for music production, with additional details to be announced later.
Aiode is an AI-based music creation platform that allows creators to integrate artificial intelligence models into their existing music workflows. The platform offers a growing library of virtual musicians across different instruments and styles, enabling creators to choose collaborators, direct performances and shape the final production. The musicians behind the models work directly with Aiode to record and license the performances used to train the technology.
