British Airways to resume Israel flights as foreign carriers gradually return

The airline will operate a daily London-Tel Aviv service from October 25, following the return of Delta and United and Air India’s planned resumption in December.

Amid continued uncertainty in the aviation sector, and as many foreign carriers remain hesitant to return to Israel, British Airways has announced that it will resume flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport on October 25. The airline will operate a daily service between London and Tel Aviv.
“British Airways’ return to operations in Israel is significant news that goes far beyond the mere resumption of the London route,” said Tamar Gerzon, CEO of travel company Gulliver. “It represents a major boost to Israel’s global air connectivity, given that London serves as a key gateway to numerous destinations across Europe, North America, and the Far East. For Israeli travelers, this means more options, greater flexibility in planning itineraries, and, above all, a wider range of available flights and destinations.”

She added, “As more foreign airlines return to Israel and expand their route networks, the market becomes increasingly competitive, making the Israeli consumer the ultimate winner by benefiting from a wider variety of choices and potentially more attractive pricing. Furthermore, the return of international airlines serves as a positive indicator of the recovery of Israel’s tourism sector and the strengthening of the country’s air links with the rest of the world.”
British Airways suspended its flights to Israel during Operation “Roaring Lion” in March and has not operated flights to Ben Gurion Airport since. Its return comes shortly after Delta Air Lines and United Airlines resumed service to Israel last month, while Air India has announced plans to return in December.
