ISRAEL AT WAR
Digital Iron Dome - Israeli developers combine forces with major platforms to combat toxic posts

Through Digitaldome.io, any user can now report toxic content with a single click, combating efforts to undermine Israel's defensive measures

In times of warfare, social networks have become a pivotal battleground for public consciousness. Following the heinous terrorist attack on Israeli citizens last week, a disturbing surge of false information targeting the Israeli campaign in the Gaza Strip flooded social media. Both well-funded organizations and private individuals contributed to the dissemination of fake news, along with gruesome photos and videos, ultimately aiding the terrorist organization Hamas.
In response to this challenge, an alliance has formed between Israel's high-tech community, former intelligence unit veterans, and major tech giants including Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn. Their mission: to swiftly and effectively eradicate these false narratives from social platforms. To this end, a dedicated team of Israeli volunteer developers has introduced Digital Iron Dome—a user-friendly platform for streamlined reporting across all social networks.

Through Digitaldome.io, any user can now report toxic content with a single click, combating efforts to undermine Israel's defensive measures. This collaborative initiative marks a crucial step in the ongoing battle for truth and security in the digital age. Following the submission of a report, a team of analysts will conduct a thorough examination. Once the authenticity of the report is confirmed, they will promptly relay verified lists of malicious content to the following social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and TikTok, with the primary objective of expeditiously removing such harmful content.
CEO of the FakeReporte, Achiya Schatz: "For the first time, thanks to the collaboration of some of the finest high-tech experts in Israel, we've established a user-friendly reporting platform that empowers every citizen to contribute to this digital defense system. Once a report is submitted, our team will diligently verify its authenticity before forwarding it to the relevant networks for immediate action against malicious content. Think of this as a digital Iron Dome, safeguarding each and every one of us and thwarting those who seek to harm us."
Schatz emphasized, "Let me reiterate - the proliferation of violent and false content on social media poses a significant threat, often disseminated by hostile foreign entities. Such content stokes fear, disrupts public discourse, and even hinders the flow of accurate information to decision-makers."
He further elaborated, "The success of this initiative directly correlates with our ability to bolster social media networks, ensuring enhanced protection for every user in Israel and around the world, safeguarding them from toxic, false, incendiary, and racially divisive content."

This initiative comes a few days after CEO of Telegram, Pavel Durov, insisted that his messaging app has no intention of taking down Hamas horrors. While other social platforms like X, Meta, and TikTok have been working to take down incendiary and graphic content posted by Hamas and its supporters (not always successfully), Telegram has taken an opposite approach. Durov even went as far as making the ridiculous claim that Hamas should be allowed to continue to post on Telegram as it uses the platform to warn Israelis ahead of attacks.
On the other hand, senior officials in the European Union announced last Thursday that they opened an investigation against X (formerly Twitter), to determine whether the social network violated the Digital Services Act - by allowing the publication of graphic and illegal content, which includes disinformation, about the war.
