Amdocs prepares major layoffs as new CEO launches sweeping reorganization

Software giant expected to cut up to 10% of workforce, including hundreds in Israel.

Amdocs is preparing for a significant wave of layoffs as part of a broad reorganization currently underway at the company. According to estimates, the cuts will affect approximately 7%-10% of Amdocs’ global workforce, including hundreds of employees in Israel.
The software giant has recently undergone a series of changes, both in its workforce and among its senior management.

Amdocs employs approximately 29,000 people worldwide, including around 5,000 employees at its development centers in Israel.
A significant part of the reorganization follows the appointment of new President and CEO Shimie Hortig. Hortig, who previously served as President of the company’s Americas Group, assumed the CEO role at the end of March 2026 following the retirement of longtime CEO Shuky Sheffer, who held the position for about eight years.
Over the past five years, Amdocs has carried out several rounds of layoffs. In 2023, the company cut approximately 2,700 jobs in two separate waves, including around 12% of the reductions in Israel. The first round affected about 700 employees globally, including roughly 100 in Israel, while the second eliminated around 2,000 positions worldwide, including about 200 in Israel. In 2024, the company laid off more than 1,500 additional employees and in 2025 it laid off several hundred more.
Amdocs said: “Amdocs’ new leadership is currently leading a broad process to redesign the company’s operating model as part of its preparation for the next stage of market development and to strengthen its global leadership.
“As part of this process, the status and strategic importance of the company’s operations in Israel are also expected to be strengthened.
“Naturally, at this stage, it is not possible to comment on specific details, as some of the processes are still under review and in the formulation stage.”
