Elbit adds $235 million deal to growing European rocket business

The contract covers PULS artillery systems, EXTRA-MR rockets and logistical support. It follows a series of European rocket artillery deals worth more than $1.2 billion combined, according to estimates.

Elbit Systems is continuing to expand its rocket artillery business in Europe. The company announced Monday that it has secured a contract worth approximately $235 million to supply PULS (Precise & Universal Launching System) rocket artillery systems and EXTRA-MR precision-guided rockets, with a range of up to 80 kilometers, to an undisclosed European country.
The deal was signed under a government-to-government agreement between Israel’s Ministry of Defense and the defense ministry of the purchasing country. The contract will be carried out over three years and includes PULS launchers, EXTRA-MR rockets, additional rocket artillery platforms and integrated logistical support. The EXTRA-MR is the medium-range variant of Elbit’s EXTRA supersonic rocket system and is designed to engage high-value targets with precision.

The new contract follows a series of rocket artillery deals Elbit has signed with European countries in recent years, including Germany, Greece, the Netherlands and Denmark. The combined value of those earlier transactions is estimated at more than $1.2 billion. Elbit CEO Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis said the latest award reflects growing international demand for the company’s rocket and launcher systems, which have been selected by customers worldwide, including in Europe and NATO member states.
