Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, suffered outages globally on Monday. Widespread outages have been reported by thousands of users across several countries, including the US, UK and India.
The number of outage reports rose to around 35,000, user-submitted data on the outage-tracking website Downdetector showed.
Much of the initial complaints focused on issues with connecting to X through a desktop, although problems with the mobile application also increased over time.
The cause of the outage was not immediately clear, and X did not respond to a request for comment.
