Former Cyera and Lusha executives launch Modus with $10 million Seed round
The startup aims to solve the "Context Gap" that prevents enterprise AI agents from delivering accurate, cost-effective results.
Modus, an Israeli startup developing infrastructure to improve the accuracy and efficiency of enterprise AI agents, has raised $10 million in a Seed funding round led by Insight Partners. Soma Capital also participated in the round, alongside entrepreneurs and senior executives including Eyal Kishon, Nadav Abrahami of Wix and Dazl, the founders of Cyera, and the founders of Epsagon.
Organizations connecting AI models to multiple enterprise systems are discovering that access to more information does not necessarily produce better answers. Models can read data tables, documents, source code, and workplace conversations, but they often fail to understand an organization's accepted definitions, business logic, and how information from different sources fits together into a coherent picture.
Modus refers to this challenge as the "Context Gap", the gap between what AI can access and how a business actually operates. AI agents that lack the right context retrieve excessive amounts of information, repeatedly query enterprise systems, and consume far more computing resources and tokens than necessary. The result is slower, less reliable responses, higher operating costs, and greater difficulty scaling AI agents across the enterprise. According to the company, the problem is not a lack of information, but an abundance of irrelevant information.
Modus' technology is designed to solve this challenge through what it calls a Context Warehouse, a new infrastructure layer that continuously learns how an organization operates. Rather than relying on manually maintained documentation or static definitions that quickly become outdated, the platform analyzes the queries analysts repeatedly use, the dashboards teams rely on, as well as documents, source code, pipelines, and internal conversations where business decisions are made. The platform continuously updates this understanding as the organization evolves and provides AI agents with only the context relevant to each task, reducing unnecessary information retrieval and token consumption by up to tenfold.
The platform operates independently of any specific AI model, data warehouse, or application platform, allowing enterprises to adopt new AI models without rebuilding how organizational context is managed. It also supports existing AI agents through protocols such as Model Context Protocol (MCP), while enforcing governance rules before information reaches the model so that AI agents access only the data they are authorized to use.

Modus was founded in 2026 by Daniel Shimoni, CEO, and Tomer Mesika, CTO, who bring complementary experience in data, product, and enterprise infrastructure.
Shimoni previously served as Vice President of Product at Lusha, where he concluded that the effectiveness of AI systems depends on understanding the business context behind enterprise data. Mesika was Head of Architecture at Cyera, where he built infrastructure for classifying, governing, and securing sensitive enterprise information at scale.
The company currently employs 12 people, all based in Israel.

"They're asking how to scale it across the enterprise without sacrificing accuracy, governance, or cost efficiency. AI agents need to understand how the business actually operates, not simply gain access to more systems."
