Elbit lands $270 million contract for advanced surveillance systems
The undisclosed international customer will receive multispectral systems designed for intelligence gathering, target acquisition and geo-location.
Elbit Systems has signed contracts worth approximately $270 million with an international customer to supply intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting systems, in a deal that will be carried out over as long as six years.
The agreement, announced Tuesday, covers Elbit’s SPECTRO family of multispectral electro-optic systems and AMPS NG airborne systems. The contracts add to the company’s substantial order backlog, which stood at $32 billion as of June 30, according to Elbit.
The financial details of the customer and the individual contracts were not disclosed.
The systems are designed to collect and process information across multiple portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. SPECTRO combines mid-wave infrared, visible and short-wave infrared high-definition imaging with laser designation and AI-based analytics.
Elbit says the combination is intended to support target identification and tracking as well as long-range intelligence gathering. The systems can be deployed in airborne, naval and ground applications and are designed to operate during both day and night and in adverse weather conditions.
The contract also includes AMPS NG systems for airborne ISR and targeting missions. These systems combine MWIR, visible and SWIR sensors with image processing and geo-pointing technologies to provide long-range target acquisition, surveillance and location capabilities.
The six-year duration of the agreement distinguishes it from a one-time equipment sale. It indicates a longer-term program involving the delivery of systems over an extended period, although Elbit did not provide a breakdown of deliveries or the value allocated to each system.
The deal also comes as Elbit continues to report a large volume of business across its defense portfolio. The company reported revenue of $2.287 billion for the three months ended June 30, 2026.
