"It's no longer about creating revenues and growing the business, but also having the mindset of how you do it efficiently"

Managing Partner at Dell Technologies Capital Yair Snir spoke to CTech at Calcalist and KPMG’s Work After Work event in Tel Aviv about why startups need to focus on efficiency

“I think that optimism resides with being more pragmatic, people are more realistic as to the business metrics that they need to achieve, building healthy companies, healthy businesses, and with that in mind, it's clear that for every company, there's no room for blinking,” said Yair Snir, Managing Partner at Dell Technologies Capital, speaking to CTech at Calcalist and KPMG’s Work After Work event in Tel Aviv.
Snir spoke about the challenges emerging startups are facing amidst the current economic environment, and what they need to take into consideration as they approach investors. “You need to have a very crisp, precise product and go-to-market approach that will enable you to sell to customers. And, customers today are very lean and mean with their expenses and budgets, so you need to be very laser focused and make sure that you're addressing a real pain, a significant pain that customers would be paying for despite the downturn and the challenging macroeconomic situation,” Snir said.
“Today, it's no longer about creating revenues and growing the business, but also having the mindset of how you do it efficiently in a way that would justify a healthy unit economics as a company evolves and scales to a much larger business.”
