Bizzabo lays off dozens as Israeli event tech company restructures

The company behind an event management platform used for physical, virtual and hybrid conferences says the changes are part of a transition to a faster way of working.

Israeli event technology company Bizzabo has laid off dozens of employees, including several in Israel and others across its global operations, Calcalist has learned.
Founded in 2011 by Eran Ben-Shushan, Boaz Katz, and Alon Alroy, Bizzabo develops a technology platform for managing, planning and measuring business events and conferences, including physical, virtual and hybrid events.

Its Event Experience OS provides tools for event organizers covering the entire event lifecycle, from registration and ticket sales to participant applications and real-time engagement tools. The platform also provides data analysis and integration with CRM systems to generate business insights.
Before the layoffs, Bizzabo employed approximately 150 people in Israel and around the world. The company has raised approximately $200 million from investors including Insight Partners, Viola Growth, OurCrowd, Next47 and Pilot Growth Equity, as well as leading private investors.
Bizzabo said the layoffs are part of changes to its organizational structure as it transitions to a faster way of working and building for the events market, which it said continues to grow.
"These were difficult decisions that affect employees in Israel and around the world who contributed to the company's success," the company said. "We are supporting everyone affected by these changes."
