Former Nice CEO Barak Eilam adds Wise chairmanship to growing board portfolio

Eilam, who left Nice after 25 years at the company, is expected to become chair of the British fintech in April 2027. He also holds board positions at Similarweb, FactSet, Payoneer and CCC Intelligent Solutions.

Two years after stepping down as CEO of Nice, Barak Eilam continues to add board positions at technology companies. The former executive has been appointed chair-designate of Wise, a British fintech company listed on Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange, with a market valuation of approximately $12 billion. Formerly known as TransferWise, the company specializes in international money transfers.
Eilam is expected to replace current Chair David Wells in April 2027, when Wells completes his six-year tenure. Until then, Eilam will also serve as chair of Wise’s Nominations and Corporate Governance Committee.

Wise is comparable in scale to Nice, with approximately 9,000 employees, an annual revenue run rate of $2.5 billion and a profit of around $600 million. One of its co-founders continues to serve as CEO.
Since leaving Nice, where he spent 25 years, including a decade as CEO, Eilam has not taken on another full-time executive role. Instead, he has built a portfolio of board positions. Even before leaving Nice, he joined the boards of Israeli company Similarweb and financial data provider FactSet, where he also serves on the Compensation Committee.
In early 2025, Eilam joined the board of Israeli payments company Payoneer. That role could be affected by Nuvei’s pending $2.75 billion acquisition of Payoneer, a deal that has yet to be finalized. Later in 2025, Eilam also joined the board of U.S. insurtech company CCC Intelligent Solutions.
