InterCure to receive $77 million in compensation for October 7 damages
The cannabis company had sought $100 million in compensation after its Nir Oz facility was severely damaged in the attack. It has already received $37 million and expects another $40 million.
Cannabis company InterCure has reached a final settlement with the Israel Tax Authority and the Compensation Fund over its claim for compensation for indirect damages caused by the October 7 attack and the resulting damage to its agricultural fields.
Under the settlement, InterCure will receive total compensation of NIS 230 million ($77M) for the damages it suffered. The company had originally sought NIS 300 million ($100M) and has already received NIS 111 million ($37M). It is therefore expected to receive an additional NIS 119 million ($39.7M) from the Israel Tax Authority.
One of InterCure's main cultivation sites is located in Nir Oz. On October 7, 2023, the main cultivation and production facility of InterCure subsidiary Canndoc on the kibbutz was severely damaged and forced to shut down.
Several of the company's employees were also injured during the attack, while two Canndoc employees were kidnapped and taken to Gaza. Both were subsequently returned to Israel as part of agreements for the release of hostages.
Following the attack, the Nir Oz compound also served as a base for IDF forces operating in the area during the war in Gaza.
The company ended 2025 with a net loss of NIS 37 million ($12.3M), an improvement from a NIS 73 million ($24.3M) loss in 2024.
