HR in the AI era
HR should guide employees on how to use AI tools properly and efficiently, says BigID
While BigID has benefited from efficiency gains through AI tools, it also warns of emerging risks to data security.
Avi Tzach, Senior Global Technical Recruiter at BigID, believes “AI tools are here to stay.”
“As an HR team, we should encourage our teams and departments across the organization to adopt them,” he said.
CTech’s "HR in the AI Era" series explores how the AI revolution is impacting the workforce across Israeli high-tech companies. In this series, we uncover the effects (both personal and professional) that this technology shift has had on Startup Nation.
“AI tools are not replacing our employees,” Tzach continued. “They help them perform their tasks more efficiently…
“That said, we must also be mindful of the risks these tools present.”

On a scale of 1-10, how much does the AI revolution disrupt your company operation in general, and the HR department specifically?
7
Using AI tools across the company – including in HR and recruitment – helps us work more effectively. It allows for faster processes and creates a smoother experience for many teams, both inside and outside the company.
For example, in recruitment, we use AI tools for sourcing potential candidates, making the process faster and more accurate. Some tools help us write personalized outreach messages that match the candidate’s background, culture, and country. Other tools help with initial screening and build dashboards to track key recruitment metrics.
We also use internal AI chatbots within BigID’s systems to gain helpful insights on important HR topics and to help write job descriptions.
Furthermore, agentic tools support us in two key areas: research and product development, and — most importantly — within the product itself. BigID’s agentic tool streamlines user workflows and significantly enhances efficiency.
What interesting AI tools do you and your staff use in employee management/recruitment?
We use a variety of tools related to AI. For sourcing, we use Teamable. For recruitment and HR insights, we use Watercooler, which gives us customized visualizations and business insights that support our work. Our recruitment system also includes AI tools that help us improve the hiring process, define job requirements more precisely, and screen resumes more effectively.
In which roles or tasks within your company has AI already begun to replace human labor (if at all)?
The tools themselves didn’t replace employees — on the contrary, they streamlined and improved processes, even shortening task completion time. Many different tasks, such as administration, internal communication, marketing, internal analysis, and even recruitment, have improved significantly. This allows for more efficient work with the same number of employees.
I believe AI tools are here to stay, and as an HR team, we should encourage our teams and departments across the organization to adopt them. These tools save time and resources, and they help produce better outcomes, ultimately making our employees feel more effective.
That said, we must also be mindful of the risks these tools present. It’s our role to guide our employees on how to use them properly and efficiently — in a way that doesn’t compromise or endanger the company’s data.
What are the two major challenges you are coping with these days?
BigID is a global company with Israeli roots, and like the rest of the tech sector in Israel, we at BigID are feeling the regional instability and the impact of the war, which came on the heels of the judicial reform crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. That said, the company continues to grow, expanding beyond Europe and the US, with developing sites in India and Argentina.
Have you experienced workforce-related challenges due to the war, and are you still feeling the impact of the security situation on your human resources?
Yes, throughout the war — and still today — we have employees serving in the reserves. Supporting them and their families' well-being is a very important part of what we do. Over the past year, we’ve taken a proactive approach to maintain our company culture, even during times of uncertainty. We’ve supported our reservist employees and their families in every way needed. For example, we provided unlimited babysitting (in fact, for all employees) and created a direct channel for mental health support through a dedicated hotline.
Have you made changes to your workforce following the increased use of AI tools, both in terms of headcount and internal shifts between departments?
At this stage, we haven’t made any changes. As mentioned, AI tools are not replacing our employees — they help them perform their tasks more efficiently.
How does the global market uncertainty affect your workforce, in terms of employee numbers or departmental reallocations? Are you scaling your workforce up or down in different regions around the world?
Our workload has only grown, and so has the number of roles we’re hiring for globally. As a data-driven company that plays a key role in the data security space, we clearly see the connection between various AI tools and our product.
We recently launched BigID Next, a new solution that offers an innovative, AI and cloud-powered approach to data security and management across hybrid, multi-cloud, SaaS, and On-Prem environments. At the same time, while AI brings innovation, it also introduces new risks — which is why our work is more important than ever.
Do you estimate that in 2025–2026 you will increase or decrease the number of personnel? Explain why.
BigID is growing across all of our sites as part of our expansion in different regions. We’re hiring globally for roles in development, product, research, sales, support, and more.
