“The important part is not creating the agent. You need to understand actual business processes”

Amdocs Division President, GenAI & Data, Ilan Sade contends that the true value of AI isn’t the technology itself, but the complex orchestration of agents and data to create scalable, secure, and autonomous workflows.

“[AI] technology is not enough by itself. It's not enough. You need to understand the actual business processes, understand the data elements - what the connections are between them - and then make sense out of it so you can embed it into your business process,” said Ilan Sade, Amdocs’ Division President, GenAI & Data.
Sade spoke with CTech’s Allon Sinai during the Calcalist and Bank Leumi Mind the Tech New York 2026 conference. He spoke about how AI agents and autonomous workflows are expected to be used in the telecom industry.
“You're going to see all the layers. You're going to see agents and sub-agents. You're going to see something orchestrating all of that and connecting it to your day to day business environment, which needs to connect to your security and so on and so forth,” he said.
“The important part is not creating the agent. Two students in the garage can develop an agent. It’s which element to bring when, what is deterministic, how to connect it in scale into your business environment - that's the key.”
