CyberArk veteran and former IDF cyber chief joins unicorn Upwind

Omer Grossman joins the cloud security startup as Chief Business Officer after leading CyberArk’s trust division and commanding the IDF Cyber Defense Center. 

Cyber unicorn Upwind, which develops a cloud infrastructure security platform, has appointed Omer Grossman as Chief Business Officer. Grossman joins Upwind from CyberArk, where he held several senior leadership positions before the company was acquired by Palo Alto Networks in a deal valued at approximately $25 billion.
Grossman brings extensive experience in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, enterprise technology leadership, and national cyber defense. In his most recent role at CyberArk, he served as Chief Trust Officer and headed the CYBR business unit. Prior to joining CyberArk, Grossman commanded the IDF's Cyber Defense Operations Center. Earlier in his career, he served as the IDF's Head of Center of Computing and Information Systems (Mamram), where he was responsible for cloud services, infrastructure, and data systems across the military, including the General Staff.

Grossman holds a bachelor's degree in physics and electrical engineering from Tel Aviv University and a master's degree in government information systems management from the National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
Upwind was founded in 2022 by Amiram Shachar (CEO), Lavi Ferdman (SVP of Growth), Tal Zur (CTO), and Liran Polak (Chief Architect). Since its founding, the company has raised approximately $430 million, including its most recent funding round, which valued the company at more than $1 billion.
The company’s investors include Bessemer Venture Partners, the Picture Fund (founded by entrepreneurs Mickey Boodaei and Dan Amiga, co-founders of Transmit Security and Island), Cyberstarts, Greylock, Leaders Fund, Craft Ventures, TCV, Alta Park, Cerca Partners, Swish Partners, and Stephen Curry’s Penny Jar Capital.
