“The Israeli market is very, very small,” says Global Teams CEO and Co-Founder Rinat Buchholz. “In order to scale and to grow… we must depend on talents that are outside of Israel.” Speaking with CTech at Calcalist’s Gaming Conference 2025, Buchholz said outsourced or distributed ways of working have much to offer the Israeli gaming sector, with many studios already adopting the model.
Buchholz spoke about her years in senior roles across gaming and fintech, and the gap she saw as companies began looking beyond Israel to reinforce their teams. “If we could bring talent that’s out of Israel to kind of reinforce the talents that we already have here, it just seemed like a very good idea at the time.” She adds that certain roles, particularly in illustration and design, are easier to hire abroad: “You can find thousands there where in Israel it would be hard to find 70.”
Looking ahead, Buchholz is enthusiastic about the significance of AI across the tech industry, including gaming. “AI is… the best thing that could have happened to tech companies,” she says. “AI allows you to do the work of 10 developers with one developer managing agents.” She added: “The world will always need creativity and… free thinking, but you need AI in order to scale.”
